Grant E. Scott Jr. - Founder, 1922-2001

1960

Founded As Scott Engineering Company by Grant E. Scott Jr. in Olean, NY. The first rotating union was manufactured for use in the paper mill industry.

1970

Development on the first generation of rotary timing valves was introduced for industries with a need for rotating fluid transfer with integrated on/off flow control. This breakthrough innovation replaced conventional methods used to control flow, such as cams, solenoid vales and switches

1987

Scott Engineering Company changed its name to Scott Rotary Seals (SRS), expanding its operations and relocating to its facility in Hinsdale, NY.

2001

Founder Grant E. Scott Jr. and his wife Marion passed away in a plane crash in Evansville, IN.

2005

Dynamic Sealing Technologies, Inc. (DSTI) of Minneapolis, MN announced an agreement to acquire SRS, operating as a separate division of DSTI.

2007

SRS acquired Blakeslee Technologies, Inc., founded in 2000. This acquisition allowed SRS to expand its rotary timing valve development and operations.

2011

SRS broke ground on a new, expanded facility located in Olean, NY.

2012

All SRS operations were combined and moved to the Olean, NY facility (current).
